Lithium Batteries - Hey, Wait 60 Seconds Or So!

It's not often that I'm impressed when I look at a scooter or moped. I generally don't like them. But this one is different. The XM-5000Li electric moped by X-Treme Scooters has a lot of great features for such a low-priced machine, including a boatload of power. Most mopeds are underpowered weaklings without much excuse for their existence. Not this one.

Break-In (Cycle-In) your LiPo! LiPos don't really need a break lithium-ion batteries in period as such like a Nitro motor but they do require a few cycles to reach their full power potential. After a few charge/discharge cycles you get the chemical reaction established in the pack and they do start performing a little better after this. So ideally a pack should by cycled 3-4 charges before you make use of the battery's full potential. There are several ways to cycle your pack, simply charge/ discharge them on your LiPo charger. If you use them in your helicopter you can do short 2-3min hover flights and recharge.

VSR stands for variable speed reversible. Drills with this feature are able lithium ion batterty stocks to operate in both forward and reverse rotation and at variable speeds. Most likely the drill will have a switch or button for switching the rotation from forward to reverse. Generally the speed varies in relation to to how far the trigger is pulled.

There are several types of battery in use at the present time and each must be treated differently. There are Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cad), Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Lithium-ion. Ni-Cad is old technology and hence only found in ancient handsets, so I will not be covering them in this article. NiMH batteries perform much better than Ni-Cad, typically giving 30% more talk time, but Lithium are thinner and give even higher performance. I will be concentrating on Lithium-ion as it is the most used cobalt ontario canada modern mobile phone battery to date. Check which type of battery your phone has before following any of the following.

Charge your batteries in an open well ventilated area. If a battery does become unstable you want the hazardous fumes and material to be vented from the room.

To make your searching a little easier, I've compiled a list of the top-10 18V best impact drivers based upon power, speed, weight, run-time, and impact rate.

Batteries aren't hard to take care of but if you don't follow these steps a battery can die well before its time and that's not cost effective for you. Make sure everyone using your radios understands the procedures for proper usage by making copies of this article and handing them out.
